When I first began working for the Six Flags & Texas Railroad, old Charlie was in pieces! I say ‘old’ Charlie because this locomotive is actually older than the General Sam Houston. Charlie was built in 1897!!! Now, Sam is getting some much needed rest and maintenance while Charlie takes on the role of SFOT’s main train. I hear he’s a grumpy man with quirks and secrets all his own. I can’t wait to find out. I’ve placed a short video below made by Dusty Wings Productions explaining who Charlie is.
