At some point, we need to redraw the line between “poetry” & hitting the “ENTER” key after every third word…

Somewhat unclear, but if I’m allowed to take this quite literally, I certainly agree. Too many moderns use thinking it turns prose into “poetry.” It is no secret I dislike the pomposity and narcissism of most of today’s poets [and their contrived forms]. If I took it the wrong way, I intended no harm but I stand with my opinion.

I see too many of them writing a typical paragraph about their day, hitting the enter key after every 3rd word, and calling it poetry. It’s lazy, but modern society accepts it as such. Same with most modern art, music, and film. Perhaps we should demand more instead of gushing over mediocrity.

That rates an “Amen.” I mean, not to offend or anything. You are, however, too generous with the word “mediocrity.” Most creative effort today is something well short of mediocre.
